Hello Friends, We hope your week is going along OK ! Here all is well !

LETTERBOXING NEWS:

Last weekend was BUSY in our letterboxing world. Saturday afternoon / evening Charlie spent time with our friends from Winston Salem, the Albers Clan. They letterboxed along the way and attended an event at THE FOX FARM, where they got to see X MARKS THE SPOT and his famliy and wish them well on their trip west. They are moving to Oregon! They will be very much missed in NC.
Charlie got all the farm letterboxes. He even had his picture taken coming out of the outhouse, while getting the much coveted Xperience wipe required Letterbox.
He had a great time !!! I was unable to attend because of a coworker's daughter's wedding. Charlie informed me that if I caught the bouquet, he wasn't coming home !! **LOL** He's so funny.
He came home Saturday night (no bouquet)......and logged his finds. At that point our total was 597. We decided that we must even that out before the weekends end.

Sunday we went out letterboxing and found the 3 needed to reach the 600 FINDS milestone. We had a special box in mind for the Milestone find. We got EGA, a box by our friends 4GC from over in New Bern. A beautiful stamp and such a pretty little park !!! We really enjoyed.
We also made a drive to Gastonia to Rankin Lake Park, the site of the upcoming BIRTHDAY BOXING BALLYHOO event to be held on August 30th..... for some research and planning. We have been to the park on several occasions, but you know, your whole way of looking at things changes when you're a letterboxer. So.... we needed to scout out hiding spots, etc. We also chose a picnic shelter that would be big enough to accomidate us and be close enough to the playground AND the facilities !!!!

Next week I hope to talk "THE MAN" into a couple of DAY TRIPS to Letterbox since we're not "traveling" anywhere for the week. Traveling to get letterboxes in a nearby town will be enough $$$, the way gas is going !!!! I'm actually hoping to get him to cross the line. We really enjoyed Letterboxing in SC the couple of times we've been down there.
I know I have a DAY OUT planned with Chihuahua Grande' to letterbox. I'm not sure if we're PLANTING or FINDING ........ but I'm prepared for both... so I told her that was her call.

One of my coworkers alerted us to a sale at AC MOORE. It was actually an E mail and said " I was at AC MOORE last night and they have a bunch of stuff on sale that you use for your letterboxing stuff". So... we had to make a quick run up there. We have started a new BEACHBOYS themed LTC swap ! We just finished cards for THE BEATLES Swap that someone else was hosting...... so we just STOLE their idea !!!!**HAHAHA**  I've been singing SURFIN SONGS for the last 3 days !!!

NON LETTERBOXING NEWS:
The wedding I attended was lovely !! My coworker and her family are wonderful and several of us from here at work were there to offer our congratulations to the happy couple. The reception was right there in the fellowship hall of the church and was catered by Bennets BBQ. I really could have gone HOG WILD... no pun intended...... but I managed to contol myself and eat a normal helping.... or 2...... **LOL** They had a DJ too and some dancing.
THANK GOODNESS there is no photographic record of Dina B. doing the CHICKEN DANCE. It was a lot of fun and I know everyone else looked as goofy as I did, but I don't think it needed to be preserved forever on a photo.

After the wedding, pal Stephanie and I went shopping. Mostly LOOK shopping, but it was nice to spend the extra time together. I did manage to find a dress on the clearance rack at CATO......... my FAVORITE STORE OF ALL TIME.

Next week both Charlie and I are off ALL WEEK for VACA !!!
Can I get a WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO ??? !!!!
He said he hoped he could tollerate me that long !!!
(I think I'll need to get a bigger dog house, he won't fit in the one I have!!!!)
